End of an era The Queen's passing could have an impact on the mission, prospects of  the Commonwealth. The passing away of Queen Elizabeth, one of the longest ruling monarchs of history signifies the end of an era. During her rule, she saw several prime ministers get elected to power including Winston Churchill. Her rule saw many historical events from the colonial nations getting freedom to the cold war. Even though her rule saw several controversies, her silent nature on political issues did not let the problems escalate. However, several questions have emerged after her death. Some of them are related to several countries declaring themselves as republic nations and removing the British monarch as the head of the state. Others are related to the future of commonwealth, which is a boarder group of nations which were once a part of Brithish Empire. When the Queen was alive, she did everything in her power to maintain its relevance but now there is uncertainty regarding it and many

Discovery of Congress: On Bharat Jodo Yatra The Bharat Jodo Yatra should live up to its mission and not be about Rahul Rahul Gandhi had been trying to prove his political ability to the people of India for a long time. However, till now he has not been able to achieve this goal. He wishes to challenge the idea of hindutva, which according to him, is the ideology followed by the current government in Delhi. For this, it was decided in a brainstorming session of Congress at Udaypur, to launch a movement named "Bharat Jodo", the main aim of which will be to show that India is a country with diverse cultures. Starting from Kanyakumari, the movement will cover about 3500 km to reach Kashmir. Such movements have changed the fate and political acceptability of several leaders in the past but Mr Gandhi should ensure that he makes serious and continuous efforts to connect with the people of India throughout his journey. He should not rely on NGOs and other organisations to propagate h

Wind in the sail: On INS Vikrant INS Vikrant is a milestone for India; the focus now must be on a twin-engine deck-based fighter  India commissioned its first indigenously designed and built aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant, on Friday and joined a small group of countries which include the U.S., the U.K., Russia, France and China, that have the capability to design and build carriers with a displacement of over 40,000 tonnes. Developing a viable domestic defence industry has been a priority for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the new aircraft carrier is a sign of India’s expanding atmanirbharta or self-reliance in defence. The Indian Navy’s ambition is to have three aircraft carriers — it already has INS Vikramadityaprocured from Russia — and it has suggested that the expertise gained from building Vikrant could now be used to build a second, more capable, indigenous carrier. A strong Navy is also critical to India’s ambition to grow its share in global trade, which is largely maritime

Slow Improvement(September 02,2022)

Slow Improvement Fiscal authorities should spur consumption and investment to aid faster recovery The current economic situation of our country is improving but not at a good or expected pace. According to the current GDP estimates, our country is progressing but in reality, it's not in a good position and there's not even a reason for cheer. The NSO's projection of 13.5% growth is disconcertingly slower than the 16.2% pace that the RBI had projected last month. And the report is indicating that our economy is still in search of a firmer footing. The situations like global recession and the Ukraine war may be pitched the economy into a shallower growth that erodes consumer confidence. In fact out of the 8 broad sectors that combine to provide the Gross Value Added (GVA) explained that only two sectors logged expansions from January to March quarter by 12.6% and 23.7% but the major employment sectors like agriculture, manufacturing, construction, and the contact intensive tr
